This will be the second consecutive NA LCS finals to be held in Canada, with the 2016 Summer Split having taken place in Toronto. Team SoloMid dominated Cloud9 at the event, which earned them their seed at the World Championship, and Counter Logic Gaming was taken out of the competition by Immortals. The event saw 15,000 attendees, totally selling out the venue.
As per usual, the team that places 1st will be awarded the North American seed at MSI 2017, the only Riot-sanctioned League of Legends event outside of Worlds and All-Star that pits international teams against one another, and 90 championship points. 2nd place will receive 70, 3rd will receive 50, and 4th will be awarded 30 points.
Tickets for the event will go live sometime in the middle of February, but Riot has yet to specify what date they will be available on, or how much they will sell for. Riot promises to release more information as it is available.
