The GEICO ELEAGUE Amateur Series

As of this week, ELEAGUE begins another chapter in its journey through Street Fighter V…but this time, they do not travel the road alone. In partnership with GEICO, they have announced an amateur esports tournament series called the GEICO ELEAGUE Amateur Series!

If you’ve followed ELEAGUE’s 32-man invitational for SFV in the earlier half of the year, then you should be aware of the hype that’s sure to erupt from this series. Of course, you may be wondering, “How do I take part?”

Throughout the month of August, a total of three online elimination brackets will occur. Two of these brackets will follow the standard format of double elimination, but the third will feature a “seven-day ladder.” Should you choose to compete in any of these brackets, you’ll be doing so with the goal of qualifying for a live SFV event at PAX West, a gaming festival that takes place across a span of four days starting September 1st.

While entry is free, players are required to be at least eighteen years of age and have the status of a resident in the U.S.A. Players can leave their email at this page in order to be notified when registration opens for the online qualifiers.

Players can participate online from either the Playstation 4 console or from Steam (PC). Note that you will need your CFN I.D. (Capcom Fighter’s Network), which is how you are identified in-game, in order to participate, not your PSN gamertag or your Steam username.

ELEAGUE is an esports entity brought to you by Turner Studios and WME IMG. Having recently completed their 32-man event for SFV, they continue to make moves in the FGC corner of esports by launching the Injustice 2 World Championship (see here for details) and partnering with GEICO to bring you their amateur esports series. Having followed them since their inception, we are deeply excited to see where else their road takes them…and us.
