Sub-Zero Video Tutorial with @PNDKetchup and @PNDMustard

Have you been enjoying Sub-Zero on Injustice 2? If so…good, because so are we!

Of course, players new to the world of NRS games, particularly those who never experienced Mortal Kombat X, may be at a loss on where to start when it comes to learning the character. That’s why our friends from the UK FGC, PND Ketchup and Mustard, took time out of their schedule to release a video tutorial for the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei!

As explained in the video, the character wields a hybrid toolset consisting of his tools from MKX and new abilities that will help him feel more at home in the DC universe. As far as his trademark attacks go, however, much about them has changed.

  • without meter, his Ice Ball does not freeze the opponent, but for the first time in the history of NRS games, it now inflicts damage. If meter-burned, it will connect as a mid and freeze the opponent, allowing you a combo afterward.
  • his slide will now launch the opponent behind him, regardless of whether or not you spend meter on the attack. It also has invincibility if done as a wake-up attack.
  • the enhanced version of his Ice Burst will now perform a shoulder charge that is plus on block but generates significant pushback. A useful tool for pressure.
  • his ice clone returns as his character power, which is accessed by pressing 4 (circle for PS4 and B for Xbox One). It can be activated mid-air and it can also be meter-burned to create two clones instead of just one. Like in MKX, you can throw your clones from the air and on the ground. Be mindful of the bar below the icon for Sub-Zero’s trait as it indicates how long the clone is in effect before it disappears.

Of course there’s more to learn, but we’ll let the video speak for itself. In summary, Sub-Zero is the type of character that can either speed up or slow down the pace of the match however he chooses. To that end, we expect the clone to occupy a large portion of his strategy.

If you’d like to see the character in action, watch this video for Sub-Zero mirrors between Ketchup and Mustard. And what’s this? Sektor and Cyrax shaders for the Lin Kuei warrior?!
