Smite’s 3.25 Patch Arrives With New Character and Skins
It is nearly mid-January and Smite has released its first major first patch of the year. They are introducing a brand new character and a bunch of new skins. Check out the new video released that explains the new God.
As always, a handful of new skins are introduced this patch, the most notable of which is “Drums Out for Raijin” (get it?). Anyway, it turns him into a big ol’ gorilla and replaces his usual drums and drum sticks with barrels and bananas in what’s not-so-subtle Donkey-Kong homage. You can see it in the video above and images below. Not only that, but you can see the images for the new skins for Ra, Ares, Hou Yi, and Athena and updated mastery skins for Ra, Cabrakan, and Hou Yi
During the Hi-Rez Expo last week was when the Update 3.25 was discussed. The brand new character released is The Morrigan. Who is mostly known as the choses of the slain in the old Irish pantheon of gods. However, in-game, she’s a mage who can stealth and summon clones, but what really makes her interesting is her Ultimate. It allows her to transform into any other character in the current match and use their abilities (including their Ultimate).
So as tribute to The Morrigan and her kicking off the game’s foray into the Celtic pantheon, both Terra and Artemis get new Celtic-inspired skins. These two and one for The Morrigan are available during the new Path of the Phantom Queen event. This event will let fans unlock rewards as you make your way through (what looks like) a Jumanji inspired board game. Access costs 1,000 gems, or you can get in for free if you’re an Amazon/Twitch Prime subscriber.
The interesting thing about This patch is that it doesn’t touch balance, at all. Also there are no item changes, and the only character changes are bug fixes. These include;
- Susano’s Typhoon doing more damage than intended.
- Ne Zha’s Wind Fire Wheels not consuming mana in certain cases.
- Skadi earning gold with Telaria Boots when marking a target for Kaldr.
You can check out the full patch notes here. This new Update 3.25 is out now for the PC version of Smite. Console fans shouldn’t be too jealous, your version should be coming in the next few weeks.
