Results for Group C and D Preliminaries at @EL

Before reading this, if you have yet to learn about the results for Groups A and B, we recommend you read this article.

Throughout the week, ELEAGUE hosted the preliminaries for their 32-man SFV invitational at their studio in Atlanta. These players would be divided into four groups of eight, and each group would be tasked with winning as many matches as possible. At the end of their matches, the two players with the worst win-loss ratios would be eliminated, whereas the survivors would proceed to the next phase.

On Monday and Tuesday, we’ve had to bid farewell to Marn, Ricki Ortiz, Gllty and Alex Valle, all of whom fought admirably well against the competition but were unable to pull out the wins (or at least enough wins to remain in the group). Now, we’ve learned the fates of Groups C and D. Read on for a pair of Twitter posts confirming the results.

It’s been a literal war to behold, but sadly not all players can be winners. EG K-Brad and Gootecks were eliminated from Group C, along with Circa LPN and LI Joe from Group D.

This means that the following twenty-four players have qualified for the next phase of the invitational:

  • Anbu Punk
  • Momochi
  • Smug
  • Brolynho
  • Infiltration
  • Julio Fuentes
  • PR Balrog
  • Snake Eyez
  • Eita
  • Gamerbee
  • Justin Wong
  • Daigo Umehara
  • Wolfkrone
  • Fuudo
  • Xian
  • Fchamp
  • MOV
  • Tokido
  • Nuckledu
  • Phenom
  • Luffy
  • Xiao Hai
  • Chris Tatarian
  • Ryan Hart

Congratulations to all of these titans! But their battle is far from over. Next week, these players will meet in groups once again with the goal of eliminating one another. This process will continue until each group has only two players, at which point a Top 8 will be finalized. The finals are scheduled to take place at the end of May, with a $250,000 prize pool up for grabs!

Also, you’ll want to tune in to the TBS network tonight at 10 P.M. EST to catch a televised broadcast of the ELEAGUE SFV invitational! The program will be aired every Friday evening.
