Red Hood releases June 13th but is banned at CEO 2017

The release date for Red Hood, the first of nine DLC fighters coming to the Injustice 2 roster, was just shared via today’s Watchtower session with Netherrealm Studios. If you’ve purchased either the Ultimate Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition, you’ll have immediate access to the character as of June 13th, which is next Tuesday!

If you purchased neither package, you should be able to purchase him separately. The price tag has yet to be revealed.

If you recall from yesterday, Injustice 2 received an update that mainly targeted bug fixes and adjustments to the menu screens. You may have also noticed pop-ups detailing information on Red Hood at the opening screen, as well as an adjustment to the character select screen. The option to purchase Red Hood is there but is not functional, but this gives us evidence that yesterday’s update was also meant to be a compatibility update for when the character is added to the game.

Planning to attend E3, or the Electronic Entertainment Expo, at the Los Angeles Convention Center next week? If so, you’ll get to meet with the NRS team at the event! What surprises will they have in store for us there?!

The second Red Hood’s release date was locked in, however, Mr. Alex Jebailey took to Twitter to drop a notice regarding the Injustice 2 bracket for his event next weekend. Anyone hoping to play Red Hood at CEO 2017 will be out of luck as he will be banned from tournament play.

However, for the sake of keeping their copies of Injustice 2 up to date, they will have to apply the June update which means that Red Hood will be accessible at character select on the day of the event. Therefore it stands to reason that the CEO team may eventually add in a rule that penalizes anybody who selects the character in a tournament match. Feel free to tweet to Jebailey on Twitter if you have any questions.

Again, Red Hood joins the fight on June 13th. When will Starfire and Sub-Zero follow suit? Stay tuned to this blog and the pages below to stay informed!
