Player Groups Confirmed for ELEAGUE’s SFV Preliminaries
With the announcement of ELEAGUE’s Street Fighter V Invitational, the team has extended personal invitations to a collection of the most notable names in competitive Street Fighter. These names would be broken down into four groups with eight players apiece.

Starting March 27th, these players will contest one another in best two-of-three sets for the right to proceed to the next phase of the series. When the dust of battle settles, six players from each group will advance to face each other in best three-of-five sets starting on April 7th and lasting until May 12th. When each group is reduced to two players, a Top 8 will be finalized.
From there on out, the stakes will rise. These players will compete in a final double elimination bracket set for May 26th. Last player standing will be crowned the ELEAGUE champion and will receive the largest share of a $250,000 prize pool!
As of right now, ELEAGUE is not confirmed to be a part of the Capcom Pro Tour 2017 season. Whether that will change or not is unclear.
The event will be broadcast online and to TBS every Friday evening at 10 P.M. EST. Be advised that the preliminaries will receive a recap of only one hour to be televised on May 19th, but live coverage of the regular season’s matches will be available at TBS. And like with previous ELEAGUE points, all of the finals will receive live coverage.
