Overwatch’s Orisa Coming To Gameplay After Extended PTR Session
Many fans of Blizzard’s Overwatch have been asking the same question, “When is Orisa coming to the game so everyone can play with her?” Fans had been overly excited to see the new hero, Orisa, go live this week. This is following the usual pattern of the previous character reveals, unfortunately, that might not be the case.
Game director, Jeff Kaplan, has been writing to the community on the Overwatch forums on Battle.net, saying that Orisa needs to bake a little longer than usual. He stated,
“We’re leaving Orisa on the PTR for a little while. We’re getting great feedback and fixing a lot of issues,”
“I know this feels a little longer than other PTR periods, but we think it will be for the better. We know how anxious you all are to have Orisa join your ranks… and she will soon… but most likely she will go live later in the month rather than this early.”
While many of us console fans are seemingly frustrated with how long it takes for new content to reach them, it seems like Overwatch balance changes could do a bit more testing than they’ve had recently. The fiasco Overwatch had with the recent Bastion update definitely rubbed many players the wrong way. It’s not terribly surprising that Overwatch PTR sessions may last a little longer nowadays, in fact, it should be that way. However, hopefully, the end result will be well worth the wait.
