NRG’s New President Is A Former Talent Agent
“The NRG family has recently grown… Welcome the new President of NRG, @TheBrettbox!”
This was the message posted to the official NRG eSports Twitter account this morning, where Brett Lautenbach was introduced as the organization’s new president.
While new to an executive-level position, Lautenbach is no stranger to eSports. He formerly worked as an eSports talent agent for the William Morris Endeavor, a talent agency also known as WME or WME-IMG that represents talent across the board, including athletes and music artists.
NRG eSports was founded in 2015, making it one of the newest organizations in the scene that has managed to quickly climb the ladder to become a household name in eSports. They currently field teams for Overwatch, League of Legends, SMITE, Gears of War, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Rocket League, as well as supporting individual players in Smash and Hearthstone.
