New Injustice 2 Robin Gameplay Revealed

Injustice 2 developer NetherRealm revealed gameplay footage in a livestream of everyone’s favorite badass protégé, Robin. His ninja-like style comes in handy when even facing off against power houses like Batman and Aquaman (I know how weird that last one feels to read).

Also during the livestream, NetherRealm boss, Ed Boon, said there will be some kind of obscure characters added to the game’s roster.  Of course as the first Injustice game covered all the high DC characters,  it is only natural that the second one bring in some of the lesser known ones. We’ve already been privy to seeing Blue Beetle who only in current years has grown in popularity. Who else is coming to this roster? We won’t find out until Mr. Boon feels like releasing. Who would you like to see? Starfire? Black Canary? Captain Atom? Beast Boy? Tell us on Twitter. In case you missed who will be in the battle so far, the other confirmed playable characters in Injustice 2 include Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Superman, Supergirl, Aquaman, Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd, Blue Beetle, and Wonder Woman.

He wasn’t done there though. Ed Boon also teased that there is good chance NetherRealm will “release third-party characters as DLC for Injustice 2.” Why shouldn’t he? This idea was huge with Mortal Kombat X, so NetherRealm could be doing it again. Perhaps just characters who were in DC comics before, like Aliens and Predator. Perhaps fans could see Mortal Kombat fighters since they have the rights to them. Who would you like to see join the fray?

When all is said and done though, “Injustice 2 will have the largest roster for a NetherRealm game, both in terms of on-disc and DLC characters,” Boon said. Boon also made clear that “Injustice 2 is taking steps to avoid allowing players to pay to win; gear will not be sold for money,” he said.

Finally, he confirmed that codes for the Injustice 2 beta are going out now. The first wave has been sent out, with more to follow. You can no longer sign up for the beta but the website says “If we reopen, we’ll let everyone know!” So keep your eyes open if you were too late signing up.
