Lineup for @BurstLeague has been expanded for Season 2!

With the first season for Burst League coming to a close, players from the anime fighting game community chimed in about their eagerness to see some additions to the lineup for Season 2.

In response to the feedback, the current lineup will be carried over to Season 2 while introducing two more games to the mix: Under Night In-Birth EXE: Late[st] and Vampire Savior.

While Season 2 has yet to begin, the Burst League staff will be accepting submissions for events featuring either UNIST or Vampire Savior. If you have any interest in submitting your tournaments, make sure that you have created a page for the event on SmashGG first.

Season 1 for the Burst League will reach its conclusion with CEOtaku 2017 next weekend. For Season 2, however, AnimEVO will be the finish line. Make sure to follow the Burst League on Twitter for updates.

Founded by TOs from the anime FGC, the Burst League consists of a collection of events featuring the games that it supports. In the case that an event you attend is part of the Burst League, placing within the Top 8 earns you league points. These points will go towards improving your standings in the league. At the end of the season, the players with the highest amount of points in each game will win a free trip to a specified event.

In addition to the newcomers in the lineup, the Burst League supports King of Fighters XIV, Guilty Gear XRD Revelator 2 and Blazblue: Central Fiction.

Although the first season has come to an end, it has been confirmed that we’ll soon learn about the details regarding an Anime FGC Invitational as we count down the days to CEOtaku. The Season 1 winners for the Burst League will automatically be featured in the running for this post-season event. We’ll update you once these details have surfaced.

Since its creation in April 2017, the Burst League has seen a staggering amount of success. Thus far, 348 events have been included in the league, and almost 7,000 players have competed across those events! Out of that amount, around 3,000 have been confirmed to be unique names. Remarkable!

Are you excited for Season 2?! Make sure to let the team behind the Burst League know about your feedback!
