Injustice 2’s Release Date for the Americas

As Kumite in Tennessee 2017 ran its course last weekend, co-creator Ed Boon from NetherRealm Studios took to Twitter with a post that would send the NRS community into a frenzy.

Ever since the curtains were lifted to reveal the gameplay for Injustice 2, players fully expected to see NRS continue their “tradition” of releasing their titles on April every two years. But it appears that this streak will finally be broken…see the Twitter posts below.

It is official. We will be seeing the second installation of the Injustice series in May 16, 2017! More than likely, the game will be released for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. A release date for the other side of the globe has not yet been announced, but we will inform you when it is known!

This announcement also raises the chances of Injustice 2 being selected as part of the Evolution 2017 roster, as the game will drop two months before the FGC ventures to Vegas for its annual championship event. For details on EVO’s roster reveal, see this post.

We’re sure you’re too excited to wait four long months before you can finally get your hands on Injustice 2, but if you’re willing to dust off your copies of the first Injustice title, we’ve cooked up something that should keep you occupied. StreamMe has scheduled an invitational event for the original Injustice 1 title, to be held on February 5th!

We highly suggest that you start practicing, because StreamMe is about to level up its involvement with the FGC in more ways than one!
