Injustice 2 Gameplay Overview with Catwoman Coming Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, NRS will treat us to¬†an inside look at Catwoman’s moveset for Injustice 2!

As one of the returning characters from Injustice 1, we fully expect to see a familiar moveset from Catwoman. That said, it is also possible that she may have gotten some minor tweaks to put her on par with the old and new characters alike (see Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn for evidence). Changes to frame data are more than likely.

In the prequel, Catwoman…did not exactly have a favorable position in the tier list. Like Cheetah, she specialized in close-range combat where she can best utilize her strong mix-up options. However, things like pushblock and the best characters in the game drastically hindered her ability to compete. She did have a special move that allowed her to close a considerable amount of distance, but it was – and likely still is – incredibly unsafe to use.

Because Injustice 2 is following a legacy curve, Catwoman will be likely to remain strong at close quarters. If the changes to her frame data favor her offensive tools, then all the better for her. Additionally, the change to the command for pushblock will likely make players more hesitant to use it, since it now requires that you hold forward and pressing meter-burn while in blockstun. Should you mess up the input, you could be in for a world of hurt.

We could also be treated to a glimpse of her gear. For those unfamiliar with the concept, Injustice 2 introduces a gear system that affects a character’s stats, even giving them new moves to utilize.

Something else worth noting: on the official Injustice website, there is no longer a release date listed for the next character to be revealed. Yet a portion of the roster remains unrevealed. See the image below for evidence.

What could be in store for the upcoming DC brawler next? We shall have to wait and see…
