Fnatic’s CS:GO Roster Undergoes Changes

Sweden-based CS:GO team, Fnatic, had a pretty big announcement as far as their roster was concerned, both on Twitter and their blog.

“Unfortunately is unable to attend , he will be replaced by for the groups.”

Yes, Dennis “dennis” Edman, who has been with Fnatic since Nov. 2015, will be momentarily subbed by Jimmy “Jumpy” Berntsson. Jumpy is a former Counter-Strike player who currently coaches Fnatic. Although his coaching career is also jumpy, he started to coach Fnatic back in August.

While no official reasons were given for Dennis’ temporary hiatus, other than describing them as personal, Matthew “Jakazolo” McCauley, copywriter at the Fnatic blog page, posted a statement saying, “Extenuating circumstances do sometimes affect CS:GO professionals though in the same way that they do anyone else, and so occasionally temporary arrangements must be made.”

Jakazolo goes on to say that dennis wouldn’t have been able to make the November start of the LEAGUE season for “personal reasons” and that Fnatic had to make suitable adjustments for the team in order to give ourselves the best chance of winning.” After which he talked about how excited the team was that Jumpy would be going as a temporary stand in to start the season off but without giving an official timeline, “With that in mind, we are thrilled to announce that our head coach, Jumpy, has stepped up and will be standing in for Dennis for the Group Stage of the tournament.”

It seems from the post that dennis won’t be gone for too long but Fnatic is clearly excited for Jumpy to be taking part in the team. Viktor “vuggo” Jendeby, Fnatic’s CS:GO Manager, also made a statement saying how excited he was for Jumpy to be playing. “After some discussion we came to the conclusion that Jumpy would be the best fit.”

Fnatic will be taking on Team EnVyUs, Team Dignitas and OpTic Gaming in Group D of ELEAGUE Season 2, which will start on November 18th. The Swedish team will be starting the following lineup:

Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer
Simon “twist” Eliasson
Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson
Joakim “disco doplan” Gidetun
Jimmy “Jumpy” Berndtsson (stand-in)
