“Flamenco Tavern” Stage Coming to SFV + More Balance Updates

In addition to the updated Capcom Fighter’s Network and Ed, a new stage called the Flamenco Tavern will be added to Street Fighter V on May 30th!

The new stage serves as Vega’s home domain in the country of Spain, featuring a gigantic cage inside which fighters will spar. with festivities raging in the background. But what’s the most captivating factor about the Flamenco Tavern is the fact that it introduces a direct interaction with the stage that can only be accessed by Vega himself…see the gif below for a demonstration.

Undoubtedly this is going to raise the eyebrows of competitive players, but still, it’s a neat attraction that follows in the footsteps of NRS as they’d previously introduced such interactions into Injustice (and fun fact, many of the older Mortal Kombat games, such as MK4 and Deception, had this same mechanic).

The Flamenco Tavern will be available for purchase on May 30th for $3.99, or 70,000 Fight Money (in-game currency).

We’re also happy to note that the Thailand Stage will be made available in the SFV store once again with a brand-new background theme, priced similarly to the Flamenco Tavern. Same date, same situation.

And get ready for this: more balance updates have been introduced alongside the new CFN update, although there weren’t that many changes made. These adjustments affect only three characters and are as follows:

  • Balrog
    • Turn Punch
      • ① Level 1 – 6 Motion: Added throw invincibility for frames 1-18F.
      • ② Level 1 – 3 Motion: Changed to upper body and projectile invincibility from frames 3-18F.
      • ③ Level 4 – 6 Motion: Changed to attack and projectile invincibility from frames 3-18F.
      • ④ Level 7 – 10 (Final) Motion: Changed to complete invincibility from frames 1-18F

      • Hitbox was reduced
  • Dhalsim

      • Changed the total frames from 44F ⇒ 42F
    • Back Throw
      • Reduced the distance from the opponent after hit.

Finally, the CFN update will introduce a series of Fight Challenges to celebrate its launch, many of which can be accessed by purchasing the brand-new CPT 2017 Pass. This package gives you access to brand-new costumes including a skin based on the colors of Capcom as well as their trademark championship event, the Capcom Cup. A brand-new stage has also been announced to be in the works though details on it have yet to be shared.

Psssst! If you log into the new CFN between the dates of May 30th and June 13th, you’ll immediately get 50,000 Fight Money. Put that towards obtaining the new content to expand your collection!
