EPICENTER Reveals Plans for Second Dota 2 Tournament

Dota 2 will be returning to Moscow for a second EPICENTER this coming June, the tournament organizers announced on Wednesday.

Regional qualifiers are slated for May, where teams from across the globe will compete against one another to make it to the EPICENTER: Moscow Groups Stages on June 4th-7th. VTB Ice Palace will host the playoffs, which will take place from June 9th-11th, where $500,000 USD will be up for grabs for the top ten teams.

“There will be a great show, meetings with favorite players, lots of gifts and contests. We hope that this EPICENTER: Moscow won’t leave anyone indifferent and will become a real celebration for all video games fans!”

In addition to the tournament, EPICENTER: Moscow will be holding a cosplay contest that will feature roughly $3,500 in available prize money.

More information regarding the event will be released as June draws nearer, though it is likely that Team Liquid will be among the teams who receive direct invites to EPICENTER: Moscow due to their first place finish in last year’s tournament. The previous Dota 2 tournament hosted by EPICENTER was held nearly a year ago in May of 2016 and featured the same prize pool, with Team Liquid taking half of the available winnings home after defeating Newbee in the Grand Finals.
