Android 17 Confirmed for Dragonball FighterZ?!

Nothing is set in stone yet, but a series of Twitter posts that surfaced over at MidshipGuitar’s account gives us reason to believe that we may know the identity of the next character to be revealed for Dragonball FighterZ, an anime fighter currently in development by ArcSystemWorks.

Future Trunks was revealed at the EVO World Stage last month in Vegas, with Krillin and Piccolo popping up later in an issue of the Japanese magazine V-Jump. Now, it turns out that Android 17 may be next in line.

Why do we suspect this? Over at the Florida Supercon a week ago, MidshipGuitar spoke to Android 17’s English voice actor, inquiring about whether or not he voiced the character’s lines in the ongoing anime series Dragonball Super. His response was, “I haven’t done Dragonball Super, but I have done my lines for FighterZ.”

He was informed afterward that Android 17 hadn’t been confirmed for FighterZ, to which he responded with, “Whoops.” Then he stated that he did not have to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) so all was well.

See below for a series of Twitter posts confirming the story.

Dragonball FighterZ is due for a release on PS4, Xbox One and Steam in early 2018. Sign-ups for a closed beta for PS4 and Xbox One will open later this month barring any changes in plans.
