F.C. Copenhagen Looks To Join World of eSports

F.C. Copenhagen, a popular Danish football club, is looking to join in the professional gaming fun that some of other famous sports teams have been having according to a report by Finans.dk.

The club allegedly will seek to acquire teams for competitive CS:GO, Dota 2, and, FIFA. The report states that the organization wants to invest several hundred thousand dollars annually into its new venture, which will likely be covering expenses such as player lodging accommodations, salaries, and travel expenses as their teams traverse the globe to claim victories for F.C. Copenhagen.

Even though deals have yet to be confirmed, Anders Hørsholt, club’s Entertainment A/S director did confirm that the club has been showing interest in eSports in recent months. “We are following the course of developments in eSports as other major football clubs are,” he said “It is an exciting area, one F.C. Copenhagen want to be part of in the future. But if and when that happens, only time will tell.” While nothing may be right around the corner, they definitely are actively looking for teams.

The club would be joining the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco as European football clubs jumping into the world of eSports. Who do you think they will, or should, invest in? Team Dignitas’s former lineup, who only just left the organization recently? What do you think? Tell us over on Twitter!
